Kowoon Educational Foundation
established the University of Suwon in 1982
under the motto of thrift, justice, and
creativity. Since its founding, the school
has been carrying out mid-term and long-term
development plans in order to become a world
class university. As a result, the school
has become one of the most prestigious universities
in the metropolitan Seoul area with a total
of forty-six departments and eight divisions
under ten colleges and ten graduate schools,
which include the Graduate School of Administration. |

Apart from its external growth, the university
has been offering English conversation courses
taught by native speakers of English to
all freshman and sophomore students in order
to rear leaders who will compete on the
world stage. In addition, the school has
been running a prep school for various civil
service exams and many students have passed
some of those exams, including the bar exam.
The university is also affiliated with several
colleges and universities around the world,
actively exchanging students and scholars.
The university established and has been
operating various research institutes such
as Kowoon Institute of Technology and Innovation
and Regional Consortium Center and getting
excellent results in some high tech development
projects through the cooperation between
the school and local industry. Thus, the
University of Suwon, with its excellent
curricula, modern facilities, and academically
competent faculty members, is an ideal school
for those who are pursuing lofty dreams
and academic excellence. At all times, the
school has been working to improve the welfare
of the students and staff members, such
as providing numberous scholarship programs,
modern dormitory facilities, and newly constructed
Student Welfare Center. Moreover, the school
has been involved itself with various cultural
projects fostering the development of the
local community and Korean culture. Since
its foundation in 1982, the University of
Suwon has kept promises to lead the reform
in Korean education and to grow as an educational
institution which will contribute to the
development of this nation.
